Tips for Use with Your
Children
|
Children as well as adults
can benefit from the Evelyn Wood Reading Dynamics program.
Because this program does not teach 'how' to read, children will
need to be able to read on their own before learning this program.
If they are already able to read, in many cases, children can
experience the same progress as adults.
|
 |
Students age 16 through
College: This age group can utilize the entire
program on their own, using the reading passages provided in the
program and school textbooks. This program is perfect for high
school students preparing for the SAT. This program can also
contribute to improved grades through improved study skills and
better test preparation.
|
 |
Students age
12-15: Most children 12+ can utilize the entire
program without modification. Seperate the program into manageable
segments for your child's attention span and
abilities.
|
 |
For Children Younger than
12: The information should be presented based on
their comprehension abilities. Younger children may respond best if
you present the information and work with them through the reading
drills, rather than have them listen or watch on their own.
|
|
If the reading passages are too
challenging, substitute the passages with books from your child's
bookshelf.
After 30 days of reinforcement, you will notice
that these techniques will become more of a habit for your
child. And ... you will notice a dramatic increase in your
own reading speed and comprehension as
well!
